Digital PR for categories where links can’t be bought
Loans, gambling, regulated health, B2B nobody links to. If buying links would work for you, I’ll tell you to buy links. If it won’t, I get you covered by publications – with stories built on data a journalist can check.

When digital PR is worth paying for
It’s slower and pricier per link than buying placements. It only makes sense in two situations.
Your niche can’t buy its way to page one
Finance, gambling, regulated categories. Real sites won’t sell you a link, or the ones that will are the ones Google discounts. Earned coverage is the route that’s left.
Proof: I’ve ranked lenders on page 1 in Singapore for payday, debt consolidation and bad credit terms – the hardest vertical in the market.
You’re doing PR anyway
Raising, launching, announcing. You’re already paying for the press work. Making that same work produce links and rankings costs a fraction of starting from zero.
What changes: every story gets shaped around a claim a journalist can verify – that’s what gets linked, not the announcement.
Neither? Buy links. It’s cheaper and faster, and I’ll source them for you at cost.
How I run a campaign
AI made content free. Journalists now get more pitches than ever and trust them less. What’s scarce is proof they can check – so that’s what I build campaigns on.
Start from what already got covered
I map campaigns that earned links in your category and the ones next to it. Journalists cover the same story shapes again and again – I don’t gamble on a new one.
Rebuild it on stronger proof
Same story shape, better source. Public records and your own data beat a survey every time, because anyone can generate a survey now.
Pitch what others can’t see
Hard niches have the fewest good stories chasing each journalist. Your books, the regulator’s files, the topic competitors avoid – that’s the gap I pitch into.
I build from the top of this list down. A campaign that needs a survey to exist is usually the wrong campaign.
What I do
Three things, priced plainly. Most clients start with one and add the next when the first is working.
Reactive PR
- What I’ll do
- Answer journalist requests every day in your experts’ names, from a brief we set up once.
- You get
- 3 placements a month, guaranteed. Every one reported with the URL.
Data campaign
- What I’ll do
- Pick a story shape that’s already been covered, rebuild it on public records or your data, write it up and pitch it.
- You get
- The campaign, the pitch list, and every placement reported. No one honest guarantees coverage on a campaign – I guarantee the work.
Links at cost
- What I’ll do
- Source links from real, maintained businesses. My freelancers prospect; I approve roughly 1 in 4.
- You get
- Links passed through at what I pay – usually $300–400 each, no markup. Rankings tracked live.
Placements, rankings, clients
Earned through resource-page outreach for decompose.co and conserves.co – the same method I run for clients selling into schools, councils and associations.
Payday, debt consolidation, bad credit and moneylender terms. I built the link-building function behind it from zero – 10 freelancers, in the hardest vertical in the market.
Before you email
Do you guarantee links?
Is digital PR worth it for my niche?
Who actually does the work?
Tell me your category. I’ll tell you if digital PR is worth it.
Send the site and what you want to rank for. If links can be bought in your niche, you’ll hear that first.
